Environment Lead / £350pd – £375pd (Outside IR35) / 6 Month Contract / Watford based
My client is looking for an Environment Lead to join a large programme of work on a contract basis. This role will require you to be onsite in Watford 3 days a week.
Role and Responsibilities
- Create and Implement Config Management across all environments
- Hands on delivery of Production Environment
- Support FIC Environment Challenges
- Engage and support project delivery teams and BAU maintenance teams
- Analyse environment requirements
- Deliver development and test environments (system test, UAT, performance)
- Document environments and underlying components to appropriate standards
- Maintain, refresh and recycle environments, including access control and deployment of software builds for testing (In house developed software, 3^rd party software)
- Capacity management (storage, memory, processors)
- Provide technical consultancy on environments and software deployment – expertise on underlying infrastructure, technologies and tools (across all In house IT application development areas)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (keep abreast of industry trends, implement best practice, evaluate new tools and techniques, automate processes, upgrade underlying technologies)
- Point of contact to engage and provide support to business and technical stakeholders of the project.
- To work closely with key business owners/stakeholders, Business project managers and the IT delivery teams to ensure a high quality, on time project to agreed scope.
- Working with other programmes/projects in technology and wider business to actively manage issues, risks and dependencies, within the Environment landscape
- Manage conflicts to ensure they do not impact delivery·
Key experience
Must Have:
- Experience of applying different IT delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, Lean and Waterfall
- Proven delivery experience within a complex IT environment with significant volume of change
- Experience of environment management and associated tools, methodologies and approaches
- Experience of IT architecture and infrastructure. Experience of the systems development lifecycle. Experience of project management principles, tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with industry standard software and databases
- Use of formal tools for software control
- Use of formal tools for managing software packages
- Use of formal tools for deploying software, eg Jenkins Experience of various software environments
- Working knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with individuals in the same field
