Location: Barrow-In-Furness | 5 Days On-Site

Rate: Open For Discussion | Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

Contract: 6 Months

We’re currently working with a technical client of ours to recruit for a Storage and Backup Engineer Architect with an aptitude for infrastructure support to perform day to day Storage & Backup Administration. The role will also provide opportunities to assist with project and transition work as required.

Responsibilities:

• BAU support of the SAN environment
• BAU support of the Backup environment
• Performing daily checks
• Storage allocation/deallocation
• SAN switch zoning
• Firmware upgrades
• Managing Backups (end to end configuration, rerunning failed backups)
• Tape Management/Rotation
• Maintaining documentation
• Producing management reports
• Implementing changes according to client change management process
• Problem management/resolution using SNOW
• Disaster recovery testing

Essential Experience/Skills:

• HP and EMC Storage
• Brocade and Cisco SAN switches
• Storage Management software skills
• Familiarity with SAN Switch Management commands (Brocade, and Cisco)
• Familiarity with Veritas Netbackup
• Familiarity with SNOW Incident and Change Management
• An understanding of EMC Networker and HP Data Protector
