    Job Title: Senior Management Accountant

    Day Rate: Up to £450 a day (Inside IR35 Umbrella)

    Contract length: Minimum 3 Months

    Location: Manchester City Centre

    Working Pattern: Hybrid (Flexible Working)

    Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 3-month contract basis.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing Group Management Accounts and act as the primary contact for finance team queries.
    • Review balance sheet reconciliations, month-end processes, and team project tasks.
    • Lead the transformation of Management and Financial Accounts processes to meet accounting standards.
    • Standardise processes to ensure compliance with standards and business needs.
    • Support the onboarding and integration of Management Accounts for new acquisitions.
    • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and deliver high-value outputs for senior management.
    • Conduct complex adhoc reporting and financial analysis to aid decision-making.
    • Collaborate with the Financial Accounts team during audits and the preparation of statutory accounts.
    • Line-manage and mentor team members, offering guidance and support.
    • Ensure timely production of Group Accounts during month-end with minimal disruption.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Recognised professional accounting qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Management Accountant.
    • Extensive knowledge of accounting processes and financial statements.
    • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and challenge existing methodologies.
    • Strong commercial awareness and practical business judgment.
    • Management or mentoring experience preferred.
    • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with excellent communication abilities.
    • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments, with creativity to enhance processes.
    • Attention to detail and quality focused.
    • Proficiency in process mapping and implementation.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manage the group’s tax compliance across the UK, Gibraltar, and Guernsey, covering corporation tax, VAT, IPT, and other taxes.
      • Prepare and submit accurate tax returns with support from internal and external teams.
      • Ensure tax postings are accurate and reconciled in collaboration with the Financial Accounting team.
      • Establish robust processes and controls for all tax matters, including detailed documentation.
      • Lead Pillar II readiness initiatives and develop sustainable tax models.
      • Support statutory reporting compliance, including tax provisioning and deferred tax calculations.
      • Provide expert advice on day-to-day tax queries, including supplier inputs and employment tax.

      • Manage tax risk and update policies, provide training, and collaborate across teams.
      • Advise on strategic decisions, such as new products and commercial contracts.
      • Liaise with tax authorities and support ad-hoc commercial or tax-driven initiatives.
      • Deputise for the Head of Tax as required.

      Relevant Skills & Experience:

      • ACA/ACCA or equivalent tax qualification.
      • Strong technical tax knowledge across multiple taxes, including OECD BEPS/Transfer Pricing rules.
      • In-house experience (desirable) and strong Excel and modelling skills.
      • Proven ability to research, plan, and deliver under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and commercial awareness.
