A central government client are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who can articulate their approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

This will be for a minimum of 6 months. Hybrid working pattern, with London office attendance required.

Daily rate circa £500 per day outside IR35. You must hold a current/valid SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines on AWS.
  • Automate infrastructure using AWS tools like Terraform.
  • Manage and orchestrate containerised applications using Kubernetes.
  • Ensure system reliability and scalability on AWS.
  • Collaborate with teams to foster continuous improvement.
  • Implement AWS and Kubernetes security best practices.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a Senior DevOps role with a focus on AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to explain the “how” and “why” behind technical decisions.
  • Inquisitive mindset to question current processes.
  • Proficiency with AWS services and Kubernetes.
  • Strong scripting skills and experience with Git.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    AWS Platform Developer / DevOps Engineer - Outside IR35

    Seasoned Platform Developer / DevOps Engineer required to provide hands-on technical skills and experience as well as supporting delivery across the wider business. You will act as SME in this space, providing technical leadership and be an advocate for best practices. The role will also require you to simplify and standardise the approach to Infrastructure as Code across the wider team.

    My client are currently working along their journey to move from on premise project work to a Cloud-based offering (AWS). You will be tasked with the design, build and ongoing support of the internal platforms that allow value add and the successful candidate will work closely with product teams, ensuring platforms are resilient and fit for purpose. You will also be experienced working in an Agile environment, be a keen collaborator and possess excellent stakeholder management.

    My client will consider candidates from a range of backgrounds, but experience working within an AWS environment is essential. Specifically, you will have a strong technical foundation in build and release environments in a previous role. You will also offer a good blend of technical skills including Jenkins, Ansible, AWS CI/CD tooling and a familiarisation with containerised platforms.

    Skills and Experience Summary (A blend of);

    • Designing and building platforms in AWS
    • AWS Serverless technologies
    • Openshift technology
    • CI/CD methodology and native AWS CI/CD tooling.
    • Defining infrastructure as code
    • Introducing automated testing to AWS environments and build processes
    • Introducing new efficient processes or concepts within the AWS environment
    • Working in the Agile delivery models – such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks
    • AWS Lambda, CDK, S3, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, EC2, AMIs
    • GuardDuty, Transit Gateway, AWS Configuration
    • Scripting expertise – Python, Bash, Ansible, Groovy
    • Jenkins and Ansible
