Sanderson Government and Defence are working with one of the most well known names in the defence industry to bring in a Second Line WAN Engineer to their shift based support team.

The role would suit someone with the following experience:

• Either extensive first line or some second line experience involving network support
• An understanding of WAN connectivity, and the willingness to learn Cisco SDWAN (current knowledge ideal)
• Ideally some experience in a shift based role including night shifts

Other requirements are as follows:

• Eligibility for high level government clearance
• Ability to commute to the site near to Birmingham Airport (likely would require your own transport unless you are very local to the site)
• Willingness to learn – this role will inevitably be a bit of a learning curve for someone from a broader IT background

FPGA Engineer

• A thorough understanding of FPGA concepts and hardware design.

• Experience of developing complex FPGA architectures and design solutions.
• Requirements capture and development
• Conduct FPGA synthesis, place and route, and timing closure to meet performance targets.
• Developing supporting software to maximise the efficiency of the FPGA design lifecycle, e.g. test scripts.
• Troubleshoot and debug FPGA designs, identifying and resolving issues in a demanding environment.

Security Systems Architect (SC Cleared)

Role details:

We’re partnering with a global consultancy who experts in defence and security. They are looking for a Security Systems Architect to lead the design and integration of secure video surveillance solutions across complex, high-security environments. You’ll play a key role in architecting systems that combine Genetec’s Security Centre, encrypted CCTV transmission, and scalable storage solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing end-to-end security systems using Genetec Security Centre, including Omnicast and Synergis.
• Defining secure video transmission architecture with CCTV encryption, multicast networking, and bandwidth optimisation.
• Integrating CCTV data with SMB and Scality-based storage platforms to ensure high availability and data resilience.
• Applying Security by Design (SbD) principles to all system designs.
• Supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement of security infrastructure.

Requirements:

Reporting & Analytics Engineer (Power BI)

Bristol, Hybrid working (2 days a week onsite)

Salary: £43,000 – £47,000

Reporting & Analytics Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Leveraging data models to identify key business data, understand relationships, and align with desired outcomes.

IT Security Engineer

As a specialist IT Security Engineer, you will work as part of their DevSecOps team based in Glasgow. The role will involve working closely with the wider technology teams to enhance their cyber maturity. Sanderson Government and Defence have recently partnered with a software development SME based in Hereford who are currently on the look out for a Systems Engineer to join their small team working primarily on the internal IT estate.

As this is a small environment, a can do attitude, an ability to find your own solutions and a willingness to muck in where required get’s you an awful long way, however there are some technical specifics that would help your case:

• Ground up server build experience in either Windows or Linux (both would be ideal)
• Virtualisation (the client uses VMWare, but other transferable experience is fine)
• Networking (TCP/IP, Cisco kit etc)

The server build (not just support) really is key, but outside of that if you’ve got the right mindset and background then I’d be keen to speak to you.
